Many people may have different opinions on whether being photographed and followed paparazzi all the time is either good or bad, but many celebrities can agree that being followed by paparazzi and having their daily life photographed is definitely a bad thing. In my opinion, I don't believe that there is a right or wrong when it comes to the line between paparazzi and celebrity. It is a very debatable topic, being that each celebrity is a different person with different values and different pet peeves. Some celebrities may be able to handle the spotlight better than others, and some may completely lose it.
In this video of Iggy Azalea and the paparazzi, she is grocery shopping with one of her friends; a totally normal activity that any of us would be doing with our family or friends. The paparazzi followed Iggy into the supermarket trying to photograph her in her own environment, but Iggy didn't exactly approve of them being up in her business. Iggy and her friend defended her by saying how they shouldn't be followed even if they are celebrities because they deserve to live in a world where they can do simple things like grocery shop. The paparazzi clearly had a different point of view on the situation, defending themselves by saying that since they live the life of a celebrity in LA, they can't avoid being followed or photographed. Also being a human being, Iggy was angered by this incident leading her to a violent solution. Even though we all know that violence is never the answer, the amount of anger inside her was visible. Honestly, I would be just as angry if someone was following and photographing me every where I went.
As human beings, we strive to live a 'normal' life. Every one has a different normal, explaining why celebrities deserve that little bit of normal. I can't really pick a side when it comes to celebrity privacy and paparazzi, because it is a feud between both sides. On the side of the paparazzi, they are trying to make a living off of the famous people in the world and everyone wants an inside to their life. On the celebrities side, it is inevitable to avoid a very big part of what comes with fame. Even though they are stuck in this world, they are still human beings with feelings, interests, dreams and values and should still be treated like they are humans rather than prizes and things to be displayed.
